I think this quote says a lot. It means to me that we shouldn't always look for good things in a big picture. We can see so much more if we break the picture apart. If you do look at the details you can see God in many ways instead of just one. I think to see God in the details everyday we need to pay attention to the smaller things in life. Big is not always better. We can use our cameras to take pictures and then break them down to discover all the amamzing things in the details of a picture. After we capture this moment or detail our picture will forever preserve the significance of really taking a close look at something.

I honestly feel I could have done better on this lighting assignment. I know I put forth the effort to get a good picture but I don’t think that really happened. I got a bunch of mediocre pictures but I still feel like I haven’t gotten the hang of it yet. I saw the assignment more straight-forward. I was a little too focused on getting the lighting and requirements correct rather then getting a meaningful photo. This is something I would really like to work on for the future. I tend to try to do things more technically and could really hurt me in a class like this. I was really surprised by the feedback I received for my one photo. I thought I got more credit then I deserved for it. I was happy that everyone agreed it was a good example of direct lighting, but I was also happy some people got a little meaning out of it. I never thought of it in some of the ways other people did, and it made me realize I may not be as bad as I think at taking photos. I really just tried to find a subject that was interesting or different, but I saw that even if you have an interesting subject it doesn’t always make a great picture and vice versa. Over all my perception of the assignment and how people viewed it was very different. I think we all took the assignment in different ways. I saw a lot of people with pictures that had a lot of meaning and others that were technically good. However, I was surprised to find that I don’t like nature phots as much as I thought I did and you can’t always get a good nature picture. I think it really depends on the type of person and I saw that not one way was right or wrong. I was also surprised that I actually liked almost every picture in some way. Even if it wasn’t pretty or if the lighting was wrong I found that they can speak to you in whatever way you interpret them which is really cool about photography.
I think when I look at a picture I am reacting to a little bit of both. If I had to chose though I think I would react more to emotive quality. I think I react more to what I feel about a picture rather than pay attention to things such as lighting, placement, and angle. For example, if I were to look at a picture of a family at the beach I would be more likely to like the picture because I can relate to it and I feel what the photographer was trying to capture.
1). I think that there is a lot of appeal in working with all natural/alternatve materials in your atrwork. The thing about it that appeals to me the most would be the fact that its not manmade. Anything that is created in nature would be better to work with because your using things that were made by God and the earth which must be truly rewarding. Some advantages of this would be that its going to be very original and unique because others arent going to use the same things you did. The only disadvantage i can think of would be some people might not be able to relate to this kind of artwork because its going to be different.
4).I can gain a lot of inspiration from Mr. Goldsworthy. I really have to admire his work ethic because he truly does work hard and puts a lot of time and effort into creating his projedts to make them good. I really love the materials he uses because i too feel that natural materials make art better in so many ways. Overall, i really take a lot of inspirtation from Mr. Goldsworthy, i really see how a good work ethic and the right materials can really help you achieve what you imagine. I am really inspired by him and i cant wait to start making my own projects.
7). I think Andy Goldsworthy must have a lot of motivation to create his prodjects. They are so unique and i really think hardwork and nature itself motivate him. I think he truly wants to create something amazing, yet created by the earth and God. My motiviation is a little different from Andy Goldsworthy's. I like nature and taking pictures of it, but i think ultimately what motivates me most is people and my family. I truly enjoy capturing the little moments in my families lives and i think that will be my greatest motivation.
